Continue to revitalize our downtown:

Pittsburg has done a lot to revitalize our downtown community. We have come a long way but there is still more to do. As a city councilmember I would work to highlight the great community space we have in our downtown to try to attract more local business. The city will also continue and expand our community events such as movies in the park, jazz festivals, and car shows. These events bring our Pittsburg community together and support our local bussinesses.

Bring jobs to reduce commute times:

We spend too much time in traffic. Everyone from Pittsburg knows this and feels it. People are spending one-two-sometimes three hours in traffic to get to work and get home to their families! It would be my top priority to bring more businesses to Pittsburg. We can do more to recruit Bay Area companies to open offices right here in Pittsburg. This will bring more jobs to our city so we can work, live, and play right here in Pittsburg and spend much less time in our cars.

Work to keep the community safe:

We have done so much as a city to come together to reduce crime and keep each other safe. We did this together in our local churches, schools, and street corners. We have also made key investments in public safety and supporting law enforcement. I look forward to continuing to work on our public safety, working with community leaders and law enforsement officials to keep our city safe.

Provide openness and transparency:

For almost 20 years, I’ve had a job in public service where I have helped thousands of people solve problems with the government including Social Security, Medicare, student loans, and the IRS. During the recession, I worked to prevent foreclosures and save homes. I know how important it is for the community to have a close and open relationship with their elected officials. I promise to be open and transparent in all my actions and to listen to my community before making decisions.
